We're Looking For a Vet Tech or Vet Assistant To Work In Our Pharmacy! Our pharmacy techs have all done their time as vet assistants/techs and enjoy the change of pace that keeps them connected to the medicine.
They no longer have to be in the treatment room but the knowledge they mastered from their time there has been put to good use in the pharmacy.
Our 10 DVM hospital has 3 full time vet techs in our pharmacy whose time is devoted exclusively to processing, filling and handing to clients refills and new scripts posted during exams or procedures.
Tasks include:
Filling prescriptions:
outside (online pharmacies, human pharmacies), in -house refills, and new scripts.
Submitting prescriptions for DVM approval Handling controlled substances (VACSP permit eligibility required) Using EMR to review records, enter scripts, enter charges, etc.
